Blogger Awards and Special Thanks

I am pleased to offer a special thank you to Jiggins from Con.tin.u.um and to Charli at Broken Mannequin for honoring me with the Honest Scrap Award. I value both of these bloggers and I appreciate them thinking of me! Please pay Charli and Jiggins a visit! I will be passing this on to 7 other deserving bloggers!. Thank you again Jiggins and Charli.
The rules for this award look pretty easy:

1. List 10 honest things about myself (TRUE and interesting things - not just the color of yours socks!)
2. Pass the award on to 7 bloggers

Ten Truths about Me:

1. My childhood was a contradiction in every area, but filled with love and music and also crazy unreasonable expectations.

2. As an adult I feel I have lived through a dozen lives. Sometimes I look back and think...did I really do that?...Think that? give up so much for that?... and on and on.

3. I had a dog that really belonged to my brother, Chuck, who named him Ole Pete but I pretended he was mine. I loved to dress him in bonnets and aprons. (I have no idea why.)

4. I had 13 cats growing up... even before I was in school. Any number of them slept in my room. One mother cat choose my bed to give birth to her kittens.

5. I have always been an observer. At age 3 and 4, our family lived on a farm before we moved to Ohio.. I watched my Dad drive a horse drawn skid for days while he was working. Then I jumped on ....without him.,... and did the same thing he had done. I can still remember how shocked I was to see him running behind me to catch me. I thought I knew exactly what I was doing!

6. I am dealing with some short term health issues that are scary to me because they slow me down! I am dealing with it. However, I am used to running through my life and ...I have always wanted to have it all, experience wise!

7. I had my first child when I was 16. I have three children and every year I see more I could have given them in the early years had I known what needed to be given..They say I make way too much out of that.

8. My mother said I have always been a champion of the underdog , children and animals.

9. I am in love with life and with the people in it. I started this blog because of that need to connect and the need to create. There is nothing I would rather do that meet new people AND I am always afraid for that initial moment that I will be rejected or not understood....Like everyone, I want to be loved and valued..

10. As a child, I wanted to go to live in Wyoming and be a crack shot...sort of like Annie Oakley:>)

The following bloggers are people who I hope have not received this award already but if they have they deserve two... They are also truthful and interesting writers and ones that I deeply appreciate for both their writing and the personal qualities I have come to know. I am holding one in reserve for another wonderful blogger I may not yet know!

Oh Linda! You and I are so very similar, I think. I love getting to know you. You are such a warm person. I feel like the universe brought us together for a reason.

I wanted also to say that your comments on my blog are always so thoughtful and interesting. Thank you for that.

I am amazed to know that you became a mother at 16! That must have been difficult. You are a strong woman and I aspire to be like you.

Hope you're feeling healthy!

This was very interesting! I wish you well with your health -- always something that people take for granted until it goes... Thanks for sharing these tidbits about yourself.

Dear Linda,

The 10 truths for some reason shocked me. I feel as if I got to know you so much better just by those facts. You're amazing in many ways and well deserved all the awards that have been given to you.

Thank you for sharing your award with me. Your friendship and frequent visits to my blog are much appreciated.

I hope that all is well for you health-wise. I'm sending you healing thoughts.

Hey Linda, and thank you for stopping by, I've been so busy lately, its been hard to keep up with everyone! lol
I can relate to how u feel about your children, I have 2 boys, my first I was 24 when he was born, but only about 16 emotionally due to the very sheltered life my mother imposed on me. But, anyway, I'm always looking back and thinking "if I had only known", but we just have to do the best we know how and pray it's enough, at least they learn some things not to do when they have children of their own! take care my friend,
Julian :)

Hey there, you Superior Scribbler, you! First of all, I'm not "spamming" you; I promise! Second of all, I'd like to introduce myself: I'm Melissa B., The Scholastic Scribe, & I'm the "Original" Superior Scribbler! Third thing on my mind: I've been nominated for a pretty prestigious blog award; I'd greatly appreciate your vote, so if you click on over to my place, you'll see the info. It's an annual award from EduBlog, and I'm up for Best Individual Blog. And 4th thing on today's agenda: I've got a cute "contest," of sorts, going on at my place every Sunday. Please come by this Sunday for the Silly Sunday Sweepstakes. And, thanks for your support!

Linda, you wrote that last Monday, and how true, we all want more of love, more of gratefulness, more acknowledgement, more satisfaction, more LIFE, amd (did I say?) more LOVE!

Thank you for visiting me, and commenting so graciously on steveroni. And bless you for spreading far and wide, your Good Cheer.

I love this post too! I feel like I know you so well now. I'm sure you've been a great mum to your kids. We sometimes wonder if we had given enough but we all just do our best at every stage of our life don't we? So, that's good enough. The kids will know how much we love and care for them.

I wish you and your family a wonderful christmas and especially I hope your health will get better soon.

Dear Linda,

I'm here, I'm here!

I've quickly scanned through your blog and I get the feeling I've stepped into a whole new subsection of the blogging community. This blog is incredible and so are your blogger friends. I don't know how I've not come across it before.

Anyway, about your post.

As a teenager, I, too, feel like I have lived through dozens of lives because there is nothing that I, too, would rather do, than to meet new people. This diversity in my social life has allowed me to sort of be in a lot of different places, living different 'lives'.

Michael.

Hi! As a more recent recipient of the Honest Scrappin' Award I followed the trail backwards and am so far last year and at you... I'm with you about the bloggiverse opening up such a whole new world... I don't know whether you've ever played 6 degrees of separation online..? I saw the film a couple of days ago and was reminded of the urban myth idea thing: that we're all of us on earth (or at least in our own countries) connected by no more than 6 degrees of friendship. I'm not sure it's quite so few but have noticed if you find a blog at random and hop via comments comments and comments out again... within 10 or 12 blogs ~ no matter how unfamiliar the territory gets ~ you nearly ALWAYS will come across someone you know again ~ it might even be a dear friend ~ back in someone else's "randomly" selected comments! It's an excellent game to play. Now I'm burrowing back in this honest scrapper award to see who I might encounter on my troubles... plus I've always been intrigued as to WHO initiates these meme things!!

Great blog you've got here... I'll be seeing ya!

All the very best
