Self Reinvention Year 15
Rumi - Guest House
This being human is a guest house
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for
some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame,
the malice, meet them at the door
laughing,and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
Dreams
by: Langston Hughes
Hold fast to dreams
For if dreams die
Life is a broken-winged bird
That cannot fly.
Hold fast to dreams
For when dreams go
Life is a barren field
Frozen with snow.

"If you place your hopes for being happy on the acquisitions of worldly goods, you'll end up being sorely disappointed. The real values of life comes from giving love and being loved."

That was taken near Helen, Georgia in 1999 or 2000. I love the area and the feeling that particular church evokes for me...
